Bolt holes on B3200 differntial

Does anybody know what these four 12 mm bolt holes on each side of differential are for?

I'll say good question! They are on most B-series tractors and they might be used with different applications in other countrys.

Are you talking on the end of the differential, if so they are bolt holes for the sub frame to bolt to for the backhoe.

I don't know what good they are (for strength) because when I got my B3200 TLB one of the holes had been stripped out by the mechanic that installed the sub frame not using a torque wrench and just cranking on it.
It is just soft cast iron and easily stripped. Luckily I measured the depth of the hole and there were some deeper threads left so I got a longer bolt and used some Locktite on it. I didn't put a lot of torque on it but it snugged up and has held so far.

I can't see what strength these gives to the sub frame as there are so many other huge bolts holding it in place these seem like they are of no use at all, especially with the short and skimpy bolts used at this location.

I am talking about the 4 holes on each side of the differential. They take a 12mm bolt and go about 25 to 30 mm deep. They are in a square pattern around the axle.
