Bolens G274 front wheel drive problem

Hi There,

I have a Bolens G274 that has been treating me very well.

However, I noticed a nasty knocking and vibration in the front end the other day. I could see the front left wheel vibrating and the sound was like a gear skipping. Soon after, it seized up completely.

Before I pull it apart, does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? Didn't make any difference when I took it out of 4WD. I'm thinking it must be a problem between the gearbox and hub.

Had the same problem with a G214 turned out to be a broken stub shaft in the front knuckle.Had trouble finding one.Had to go to a machine shop and have one made.It was an easy fix

My guess is a bearing went out & a ball got jammed in the gears. I can supply new & used parts.
