Bobcat S175
Hello, I could use some help with my S175. It is new to me, but a 2003 model with 3000 hours. Since I have had the unit I have put @ 2hours on it and 3 different relays have failed. The glow plug, fuel, and traction have all failed. It is used as a fork lift and snow plow. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Vibration is hard on relays, especially on these that set close to horizontal. A lot of relay failures is used to see were loose contact, not internal failure of the relay. Apply dialectic grease to the relay terminals and there should be a piece of foam rubber inside the steel relay/fuse cover to press against the relays when cover is on. If the foam strip is missing, put a piece of foam rubber in there (about 1"X1"X length of the cover).

there are three ways a relay coil can be wired, and the pin postions on the relay will be the same. Non clamped coil and clamped using a diode and clamped using a resistor. The clamped relay(with diode) are polarity sensitve, if it is wired for non clamped and you are using say one witha diode and the polarity is reversed it will blow everytime. Look at the picture on the side of the relay, there will be symbol for diode or resistor between coil contacts. If you sue one with resistor should not be polarity sensitive. Why resistor or diode there long story......
