Bobcat Press Release

Thanks for pointing it out. They've also updated the Bobcat Toolcat web site info to reflect most C-series changes that close TBN Toolcat forum readers already knew about! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Also, there are photos of the Rear PTO and other updates to the 10-page Toolcat pdf brochure (new brochure now available for download).

Boy they sure did not spend much more than 1/2 hour updating the brochure for the new version. There are only a couple of pics of the C version and no mention to any improvements over the previous models. The rear PTO and hyd options are about the only "new" information presented. Someone looking closely at this brochure "cold" could get confused pretty quickly.

Makes one appreciate all the more the "inside" information that several of the folks here have been able to dig up and share with everyone. As I have been tied up trying to get a new garage/shop finished ASAP I have not had a chance to get to my local dealer for a while. Still seriously considering one though.... perhaps in the spring?

Once again, thanks for the Heads Up.

Merry Christmas, Season's Greetings, and Happy New Year to all!!

Rip,
You're right, they didn't change that Toolcat brochure much or put in much text for the C-series upgrade and new option details. But I suppose the Toolcat is such a unique concept that they felt more color photos of Toolcats in action and broad clear themes in the text was better marketing to get people to the point of seriously considering a Toolcat. (But I certainly wanted more details than the brochure and spec sheet offered.)

Then you do have to seek out the rest of the info, although dealers and Bobcat Company both will provide a lot of details (they could do better in having more details on their web site for prospects who are not yet convinced to see a dealer). But this TBN Toolcat forum has put together what lots of potential and actual Toolcat owners want to know and have found out, perhaps some of it in ways the company would be hesitant to do so! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rip, I guess early spring is ok for your climate if you've got snow removal covered with your PT and truck, and you'll be occupied with your new garage/shop. (/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Tell us more and plan on room for your future Toolcat and attachments!). But since we don't have snow and ice as frequently or intensely as you do, I'm able to use my Toolcat's heated cab and various attachments for lots of winter projects on our farm. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rip, I know all the Toolcat owners and prospects here really appreciate your contributions, which have been made right from the start of the still pretty new TBN Toolcat forum!

Right back at you with Merry Christmas, Holiday Cheer, and Happy New Year! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brian, I've been told that one can never have too much space, and I am begining to believe it as this 900 sq ft building is just about done and does not look all that big any more. It will surely make a big difference, but will still leave a number of things out in the cold (like most tractor attachments). I may put up a metal carport-type shelter nearby. On the other hand just setting some of them up on blocks may be good enough.

I am one who like to research before making a big purchase, and this site has helped me on many things (including my PT). I do get frustrated at outfits that severly skimp on technical information and let non-technical marketing folks present their products. From what I hear at least Bobcat does provide real access to real technical and engineer people rather than the firewall many companies seem to build between themselves and the public. That is a good thing!

I have really appreciated the shared info on this site as I live 45 miles from the nearest Bobcat dealer and the last two times I did go there they did not have one to even kick the tires let alone test drive. If I was really in the immediate market, I would set up a demo or go elsewhere.

I really like the Toolcat and recognize that it would do most things better and more comfortably than the PT, EXCEPT for the slope capability which is the main reason I got a PT over a CUT. I have run the PT many times in the 30 degree plus range on sidehills and I could not do this with a Toolcat. But it is hard to justify TWO such machines and attachments. So I will have to think on this some more. Every few days there is something else from this site to fuel that process.

Thanks all!!
