bobcat for clearing brush??

They work great.
For brush, I pull up close to the overgrown area with the bucket raised then lower it and put the bucket in float. Then backup and the teeth grab into the brush and it pulls out the brush very easily. Depending on the amount to remove, it may take a couple runs of this fashion.
Small trees that won't push/pull over usually need to be loosened by digging them out.
I usually drag the brush out and then after I get a section cleared, push all the removed brush together into a larger pile. You can push a very large pile to a central location if you need to.
You will be amazed how much brush you can clear with a skidsteer in a couple hours.

If you push with the bcat, be sure to wear protective hat and shield or at least safety glasses. That stuff can flip back and you aren't very far from it.

Yes, they do rip up the grass pretty good, especially when turning tightly. What I do after I get a section cleared is go back and use the float on the bucket to smooth out the area you worked in.

Yes, that is why there are many offerings of "tracked" units now, from Bobcat, CAT, ASVi, and others. Work really well, and do not tear things as much as a typical skidsteer. Bobcat also offers a 4-wheel steer unit, which can operate either in standard skidsteer mode, or 4-wheel steer.
I have used the CAT and ASVi units. The tractor rides much better than a standard skidsteer. It is much easier on the ground, even when turning; the PSI of the wheel on a skid-steer vs the track is amazingly different.
