I still am waiting on my tractor . It will be ready on the 3rd of June. $3000 repair and about $4000 in lost work. I am not sure I can put up with this. Thinking about a new tractor. Looked at John Deere. Did not care for it at all. Looked at a Yanmar to see what"s up. Tractor looked nice but did not seem to be price competitive. I do mostly brush mowing so I am looking to see what my options are.I am going to see the Kioti dealer next week. TYM,LS and Kubota are next. I think I will give M.F. and New Holland a look as well.

That sucks, good luck!

Don’t blame you at all. Let us know what you get. Going to trade, or keep the bobcat as a back up?

Tractor is back and seems to be fine. The tech. said repair was due to worn parts. Did not see anything else. I will post a photo of the worn part when I get a chance.
Hunt for a new tractor has not been as fun as I expected. Internet prices and local prices are thousands apart on all but Kioti and JD. Here is what I have decided so far.

J.D-out
New holland-out
Yanmar-out
Branson -out
l.S.-best deal and fine looking tractor but dealer support is lacking
Tym-My favorite tractor but dealer is a long way away and I am not willing to go the Rural King route.

Kubota-Don't love the tractor. Least weight, fewer features, loader lift and 3 point lift are about 1/3 less than most of the others,It has the tie rods in front of the axle which looks like a horrible situation for someone who mows the unknown often. The good is the reputation, resale and the fact I have 5-6 dealerships that are near. I was at the largest dealership yesterday. Waited 30 min. for a salesman and it never happened. My local dealer just sold out and the new owners have already developed a horrible reputation.
Kioti-Nice dealership and good price but it is more or less what I have now.

Just no clear path. Not a lot of good dealerships. Plenty of capable tractors but price is all over the place. I am considering waiting until the fall rollout of the new Bobcat tractors. They said it would probably be October. I wonder if they will have the great deals that the old line had when they were introduced?

I have my 225 back in the shop for a front end rebuild. I just got it out after having a new seal in the front hub replaced. this will run about $3500.
My other repairs have been 2 new front hubs $1300 each
repair 3 hydraulic leaks $2300.
rebuild motor $3000
trace down broken wire that kept it from starting $150
I have always thought it a good tractor but I am now over 10 grand in repairs not counting what was done under warranty(3 hydo leaks).
This puts me over 10 grand in repairs. My tractor is about 8 years old and has about 2000 hard work hours on it.
Does anyone else average $1300 in repairs per year? This figure does not include maintenance.

Buddy, I am probably missing something...3500 for a front hub seal:shocked:....etc....I don't think you should go back to that dealer.
They supposedly replaced both hubs at some point for 1300 each.... now they want 3500 to replace a seal in one of them....Call the cops:thumbdown:

The 3500 is for a seal replacement at about $500 and about a month later $2900 for an entire front end rebuild due to some worn parts. It had 19 hours of labor.:(

Will try to get a photo when the tractor comes back.

Interesting. I've always wondered if something like that has happened wit the oil filters hanging off the sides of these things. Maybe a low oil pressure shut off is in order or just a load alarm. Something I will have to think about. My 321 has an alarm. Thought it was a good idea when I saw it, or heard it.
