Bobcat 773

I have a 2000 Bobcat 773.

It has about 300 hours on it.

I let a friend use it and he decided to add hydraulic fluid to as the bubble was not floating in the site glass.

He had never added hydraulic fluid to a bobcat before. In addition, the last time it was serviced apparently the person doing the service put the hydraulic cap on the oil fill and the oil cap on the hydraulic fill.

My friend removed the cap that said motor oil and put 4 gallons in. Thus, my friend added 4 gallons of fluid to the motor oil instead of the hydraulic system.

He turned the motor over a few times, the engine did not start but it did build up enough pressure to spit out oil from somewhere.

The excess oil was drained from the engine and it seems to run ok with no oil leaks.

What damage could have been done and where did the oil that was spit out of the bottom of the motor come from ? (it did not come from the oil dip stick nor the oil filter.)
