Bobcat 337
Hello,

I'm writing this post for friend of mine, who has Bobcat 337 (year 2000). It has worked adequately until now.

Engine starts and runs perfectly fine. But anything, which relies on hydraulics, has suddenly stopped working without any warning (sound, smoke etc)

Could anyone help where to start looking for the problem?

Check fluid level.

Can you determine if the pumps are turning.

Is the drive train working?

I've seen the pump coupler walk back on the pump and come out of engagement with the flywheel.

If the blade will operate but nothing else, then problem is likely to be in the Lockout solenoid electrical system. Blade is only function that is mechanical on that year machine all the rest are pilot operated and the lockout system turns off the pilot pressure.

If everything including blade stops, go to the pump coupler as Brian mentioned.

Thank you everone for trying to help me and my friend out.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier!

Good news is, that Bobcat is running happily again! Let me tell you that I'm no way familiar with mechanics of these machines but I'm trying to give you an idea what he did to repair it.

He disassembled all the covers to expose the engine and the hydraulics pump. There was a disc shaped object between these two. Half of that disc shaped object was made of out of some hard plastic? I don't know what's that disc called in english and he threw that broken part away so I can't post you a picture of it :( Anyway, that disc had several tooths which were wore off. That's why the hydraulics didn't worked. He took out the disc, replaced it and voila!

weedee, that disc is the engine half of the pump drive coupler that Brian and & I mentioned. Thanks for coming back and letting us know.
