Thought I asked this before but -
There are a lot of Bluetooth transmitters claiming
The long-range Bluetooth extender has Class 1 tech and an antenna with up to 300' line of sight and 160' indoors,
Robot or human? for one.
Now that range would let me work around my shops without having to keep my phone with me.
I'm used to the 30' range an
d that was nice, but that extra range would sure make my life easier.

My son picked up an Aluratek - Bluetooth Audio Transmitter from Best Buy with a claimed range of 50'. It does seem to punch through a bit more than my older BT devices.

But I've read that not ALL BT 5.0 is compatible.

So what is the TBN knowledge base have to offer for experience with Bluetooth 5.0 and long range transmitters?
Any recommended equipment?
I'm not expecting to be able to punch through metal walls. But I would like to be able to putter around the yard without dropping connection.

Thanks, unfortunately the Amazon reviews show 11% negative, with many complaints of not working very long and no response from the seller.
I've a personal floor of 7% negative reviews.
Going on 9 months now with no issues. Regardless shows you the range is possible.

I’m a retired land surveyor and we had bought a robotic total station a few years before I retired. Instead of someone standing behind the instrument it tracks you automatically and you control it from the rod and prism. I believe it was using long range Bluetooth for the data collector on the rod to the instrument. The data collector and the instrument had short stubby antennas and the range was pretty long, over a 1000 feet as I recall. In otger words I’d think a few hundred feet is doable.
