Thanks LBrown....Geez, this is the first time on TBN that someone has called me a name for posting my opinion...you were right..

All this unpleasantness could be avoided by not cutting the stupid grass (name calling, I know :)), leave a green buffer along the road.

1000 yrs from now, archeologists will describe us as the 'Mower Culture', just like we named the pre-Columbian 'Mound Builders' of IL and OH.

I am sure this opinion has my FIL spinning in his grave, Heaven only knows what ire the living will heap upon me.

Dave.

\......everyone ? you want to be careful saying everyone thinks the way you do. First let me say it seems you are very brave with your posting on this forum, the question is would you be that brave face to face ? I think not.

When I cut the right of way at the front of my property the side chute on my finishing mower is on the right side of the mower, therefore in order to face oncoming traffic and be safe I must blow some grass clippings onto the county road....just like the county does. I am not going to mow on the edge of a county road with my back to the oncoming traffic. Now I am all done with you .

Clearly you're new and clearly you don't know me. Tell me what it is a sign of when you're told of an action that causes accidents and injuries to innocent people, is illegal, and you brag about continuing an unjustifiable practice. Besides, you don't know how many people have gotten a kick out of the first person matching with one particular poster. I promised not to reveal the PM's though. :)

Wouldn't it be nice if all finish mowers were rear discharge then we wouldn't have this problem to begin with.

I wish I could avoid cutting the grass by the road, but if I don't, the State comes by with a truck and sprays weed killer besides the road and about 10' into my lawn. :(

Good point. My rear discharge finish mower also does a much better job at not leaving wind-rows of clippings like side discharge mowers do.
