Not wanting to feel left out or inadequate by all the big tractors, here is me blowing some snow with my little TG1860 Diesel Kubota. The rear tires have chains and weights and does surprisingly well on ice and snow. In the summer this little Kubota has a 54" belly mower to cut nearly 3 acres of grass.

I figure I moved 800' of snow with the rig below over the last 25 years. I agree with the poster above. Some kind protection from the blowing snow would be nice. The simple plastic top keep the wind out and the heat from the engine was retained by the top so it wasn't usually too cold.

I think the best part of the new Kubota is the heated cab. I just wear a sweatshirt and pants - no need for gloves and a hat. I feel like I died and went to snowblowing heaven.

By the way, I love those big snow covered pine trees in your picture.

Looks like it does a fine job!

Where you located? a snowmobile helment with a heated visor might be helpful.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I am from Caledon in Ontario, Canada. Yes, things can get pretty cold and the helmet suggestion is a good one, when the wind blows the snow back in your face it feels like being hit with pins. My legs also tend to freeze (I should get some snow pants).

I just bought this house in late September and the tractor came with it. It needed quite a tune up as it had been neglected recently. New oil, new fuel, air and oil filters. A good grease all round and it runs like a dream. It has 800 hours on it.

However, I think I made a mistake with the oil. The manual recommended 10W-30 so I just put Castrol GTX (gasoline engine oil) in it in my post-move haste. I have read since however that it should be a diesel-specific 10W-30. Please don't tell me that have just killed my Kubota (it runs fine, however).

postman, great pics ! I wouldn't worry about the oil this time around, but next service i would use the diesel specific oil.

Question; I found a used Bolens snowblower that appears to be the same make as Kubota snowblowers. It is a 50" unit. What size is yours? How far does it throw the white stuff?
PS; femco makes a weatherbreaker for these little tractors, I have one on my JD

Okay now thats great! that blower has a seperate motor, I have never seen such! How do it fit to the front of the ATV? I see chains on all 4 wheels, extra lights, a camo cab ... got radio too!
