It's good and refreshing to see somebody wanting to do it right . Too often most operator's want to get by with ether , hair dryers, glowing charcoal, torches, kerosene heaters and tarps .

Call LS. I called LS last October and they were very helpful. They gave me a part number for Kat block heaters and a part number for Zero Start block heater. I ended up getting the Zero Start heater from my local Napa for $30. Easy to install also. Make sure that you ask LS which frost plug hole it needs to go in and clocked in the correct position.

Is the block frost plug easy to remove? See an O ring on the block heater hope it seals well without leaking coolant. Any experiences?

After talking with LS and ensuring I new which frost plug to pop out, I went ahead with the procedure. I used a center punch to tap fairly hard in the center of the frost plug to loosen and it came loose after 4 or 5 good taps. I then also used a flat head screw driver and needle nose pliers. The frost plug ended up getting pushed inside but was easy to grab ahold of with the needle nose pliers and pull out of the hole side ways. Took me about 5 minutes to get it out me being very careful. Look on you tube for videos on how to remove or ideas to remove the frost plug. Installing the block heater took about 20 minutes because I had a small space to work in and I wanted to keep the block heater strait up and down keeping the heating element in the correct position. I have ran it through the winter with no leaking.

I have R4041 as well. Which freeze plug did you remove? Do you have the part number for the block heater?

boomer 632 you would have to call LS for engine block heater part Numbers. I have the G3033H and your R4041 would likely have a different block heater number? LS can give you part numbers for both Zero Start and Kats block heaters and tell you which frost plug port to install in as well as the position to clock the heater in.
