I'm looking for a block heater and plug for MT160D. One of the pronges for the electrical connection broke off the heater that is in the tractor. If someone has a heater and plug for sale please contact me Thanks Dave

Are you talking about one of the prongs on the 110v male plug end? If so they can be replaced. If its at the block heater end then you are right, it needs replacing. I went with a lower hose heater which was much simpler to install. It keeps the antifreeze about 140 deg.

Yes one of the prongs on the 110 volt male end is broke off. The block heater does work, I've checked to be sure. The prong that's broke off is the one at the bottom . Thanks Dave

Where can I find a lower hose water heater to heat the engine instead of the stock block heater in my mitsubishi 160D tractor. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks Dave

Most any auto parts store has them. I bought mine at an Advance Auto Store. Mine is a KAT's #14500. they have various sizes depending on the I.D. of your lower hose. I picked out a good spot to cut the lower hose, drained radiator and cut hose, installed heater w/ hose clamps and refilled radiator. Whole job took about an hour. In the cold weather I leave it plugged in all the time till I need it. Keeps my radiator coolant temp about 130-140 deg. Tractor started up instantly a few days ago when temp was -10deg. F

I’ve got a Mitsubishi MT 160 1980-82 tractor .was purchased in S MS now I live in NE OH . My pre heat indicator heating Coil is not heating up. The initial coil broke from making a full current . I replaced the wire coil with SS piano wire , now it’s getting warm to touch but not HOT ENOUGH TO DO ANY GOOD. Could I install a Block Heater and if so exactly where but engine info is limited.plus I’m not a Diesel Mech. I really would like to fix the original way via heating coil indicator wire .
Or do I just stick a heating pad on side of my block and that be good enough ? Any help would be grateful

I would think that you would want nichrome wire for a replacement. Heavy gauge like 14 ga may work for the task. Here's an Amazon link for 14 ga; Amazon.com
Nichrome not only heats up but passes current through it. Same type of wire used in hair dryer and clothes dryer. Hope this helps.

Edit: When the weather warms up, remove a freeze plug and get a block heater replacement for it.

Thanks for your reply Topzide . I’ll try replacing the current piano wire I instead with what you suggested. And go from there

SS piano wire is a poor conductor of electrical current.
