SS piano wire is a poor conductor of electrical current.I’ve got a Mitsubishi MT 160 1980-82 tractor .was purchased in S MS now I live in NE OH . My pre heat indicator heating Coil is not heating up. The initial coil broke from making a full current . I replaced the wire coil with SS piano wire , now it’s getting warm to touch but not HOT ENOUGH TO DO ANY GOOD. Could I install a Block Heater and if so exactly where but engine info is limited.plus I’m not a Diesel Mech. I really would like to fix the original way via heating coil indicator wire .
Or do I just stick a heating pad on side of my block and that be good enough ? Any help would be grateful
