The snow managed to stay around long enough for the girls to accomplish a very important project. The smiles say it all...

One thing for sure, that picture is priceless! Have to secure that to hand to them when they are grown up and maybe remember building a snowman way back when....

Heck it all but gone....now. At least I got to use the "FEL ONE DAY THIS YEAR!" to move snow:p . That is all fine for me...why I moved back to Texas! And Wise county to boot :D . For all my Wise buddies., I am starting 18 gallons of Mustang grapes this weekend. All those wild grapes have to put put to some good use!

We just missed the snow by about 10 miles, however the above post by Jimmyp5 also got my attention since the wild grapes ripen around July 4th. My attempts to make mustang grape wine have not turned out good, what's your secrete Jimmyp5? Are you using frozen grapes????

As of this morning, rural area 45 miles NE of Cincinnati, we have drifts around 30", some areas look to be perhaps as little as 8". LOTS of high winds since yesterday morning, very difficult to determine actual snowfall due to the wind & drifting. My guess would be around 12-15" right now.

Despite Herodotus' old adage, "Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds", yesterday snow DID stop them here. We got no mail, and a call to the local Post Office clarified that many of their carriers were unable to negotiate the roads. I would suspect that may happen again today, as the forecast is calling for 5" or so more with continued winds. NWS has had us under a Blizzard Warning since yesterday AM.

And now the Storm is moving Northward and gaining in intensity!

Dang! Egon, the first thing I did when I went to your link was to see -6.3 C in Toronto. That's makes our 25 F feel quite balmy. By noon it will be at least 50 F here. The way it works here is something like this:

1. It gets cold.
2. It snows.
3. People run into each other or other objects on the highway
4. It gets warm.
5. Body shop owners smile.
6. Everybody drinks beer and complains on the golf course.
7. Repeat 1-6 above.
