I just installed full hydraulic steering on my truck and am wondering if anything special needs to be done to bleed the lines to the cylinder, or do they self bleed?

If you installed a conventional loop system, then it is self bleeding. moving the wheel back and forth from stop to stop until all the "growling" stops will remove all the air. Recheck fluid level when you shut it off.
