Black Oil In Desiel Engine!

I used to have a favorite thread marked that was lost in the conversion It was a thread talking about how that black oil in desiel engines becomes black very quickly after you change it. I have search this formum high and low and have not been able to find it. Can someone give me a link to it if they know what I am talking about.

Thanks a million this is the one I was looking for. Sometimes it is helpfull for customers to see that we are not trying to feed them a line when they call a couple of weeks later asking if we changed thier oil as their oil is black after we serviced thier tractor. Now I just have to figure out how to mark it as a favorite thread; I am still trying to get used to this new format.

If this is for customer service answeres maybe try and get some literature from the distributors!

You know we have tried that and still we have people that think it is a big conspiracy I have found that those people will accept this even above literature from distributers! But thanks for your help in locating this for me.

What a joke, people do not realize that their oil turns black and think it is supposed to remain clear in their diesels?

I like that it turns black. My old diesel is the only machine I run that it's easy to see the oil level on the dipstick. The lawn mower with the stupid plastic dipstick is almost impossible.
