BKT tires vs. Titan (Ag tread)

I seen a lot AG tires over years (both mine and others) and in my opinion Firestone is the best you can buy. They are more expensive, but in my exsperience they will out last anything out there. When I buy new tractor or combine tires they are FIrestones.

I wont buy any more firestones . I have several sets on tractors and combines and have cracked badly compared to goodrich, good years etc . I think for the price the BKT are hard to beat . Recent Michelins have been very disappointing too . with tyres you definateley don't always get what you pay for . Carlisle are just garbage !

It's the opposite around here. The side walls on the Goodyears will crack/bust long before the tread wears. I've have both and won't buy any more Goodyears for this reason.

Maybe is a hot/cold issue. LOL.

I am wondering that if BKT is an Indian company, that they may be putting in more actual rubber in their tires to combat the extreme hot and sunny days found in India.

This of course to thwart the cracking and checking evident in the modern tractor tire.

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on BKT vs. Titan Ag rears 16.9x28?

The dealer says Titans will cost $150 more per tire, that was what was on the tractor originally. The BKT's look aggressive enough, I'm wondering about treadwear.

The tractor sees dirt/mud most of the time but pavement maybe 40% of the time.

Thanks.

After years of putting tires on tractors, I've recently been tending towards paying more and getting Titans just because they seem to wear longer against our hard soil and sun. But I've sure gotten both good and bad tires from other manufacturers too. Some of the best tires I ever got were good old US standard brands like Goodyear and Firestones.....but I've been buying Titans in the last ten years and like them. Don't know anything about BKT.
luck, rScotty
tend to pay the extra

I bought the btk this yr, no probs and they don't stink of coal oil like the chinese tires do,, My friend is a mold technician at a trie maker,, he couldn't find any issues with the build

My tractor came with Titan's bias when I bought it in '07. Very slight signs of rubber drying out (hairline cracking) around the end of the lug, especially on the fronts. Tires have given me good service. No gripes.
