Actually a couple months. I'll never make that mistake again. Every load gets Power Service Bio-Kleen biocide additive now. Stuff stinks but it works. The algae slime really screws the pooch when it comes to stuff like filters, lift pumps and injectors. My pump survived, don't know how though.

We were running biodiesel dyno and field tests a number of years ago, before I retired. The major unexpected finding was thatbio reduced the soot loading in the DPF. More passive regeneration going on, so time between active regenerations was extended.

I will be checking the WA State regs on bio if they even regulate it. Wit our Green Gov and Legislature, any thing is possible. They just do things as they see fit.

I have cut my fuel with Kero before, but I don't burn much most winters. When it get below 10 degrees and stays that way for a couple of day is when it seems I have had gelling problems. I shoot for maybe a 30% blend of kerosene.
