Whats going rate for BioBallast?

Just got a quote for $400 for 94 gallons installed. Tire size of 420/70/24.

$450 Another dealer
$540 at Les Schwab.

Simply another companies take on RimGuard. Liquid fill for rear tires with lower freeze temp that weighs more than plain water.

Not available here, so no idea on prices.

Rimguard website states its $0.28 per pound. Which would be $250 or so. Saw other posts that Bio Ballast was around the same. $250 installed for similar sized tire.

Check with my neighbor and he paid $350 for it in his JD, but it has a lot smaller tires. So I guess $400 it is.

if more weight is critical pay the price. if you just want more weight why not fill them with washer fluid?
Filled my own (really easy) -0 and it made a big difference. Way less money as well

Well aware of what Rimguard is. Well known up here. Everyone calls it Rimguard. Farmers, ranchers, tractor dealers, they all call it "Rimguard".

I have it in my tires. Highly recommend it.

Never heard anyone ever call it "BioBallast". Not on the TBN forums, or here locally. Never.

Always been called "Rimguard".

So BioBallast is Rimguard.

My dealer charged me $390 to install Rimguard in my rear tires before he delivered my new tractor to me.

The rears are size 420/70-24's (Industrials).

Filled to the top of the upper rim, you can see here in the frost line:



I don't really think you need to worry about that level of freeze protection in Seattle. Unless you're looking for the most weight density available. I think windshield washer fluid will work there without freezing, as you just don't get that cold along the coast. We use it here because our sustained temperatures can be at -40F for weeks at a time. The pic above was taken at -30F.

Hum...mmm 94 gallons of windshield washer fluid would cost about $120, weight= 714 lbs.(7.6 lbs. per gal. - straight water is 8.33)
94 gal. of BioBallast cost $400, weight= 1037 lbs.(9.7 lbs. per gal.)
Weight difference= 323 lbs.
Cost to gain that 323 lb. difference= $280 more than WWF.

And then......you get a parked overnight flat!

-40F windshield washer fluid is not available in Bismark?
