Just got a new BigTex goosneck Dump trailer. I was going over everything and seen this with the scissors lift. Its not effecting it going up and down, But it looks like it hits one side when its down Is this normal? As you can see by the pics the left side has space and the right is smashed up against the other side. Would you guys worry about that or just leave it go.?

Posted new pics let me know thanks

Several of them just look like they are greased pivot joints that have fresh grease in them. The first pictures show what appear to be 1x2 channel that is stitch welded (inadequately) to make a 2x2 tube. Why did they not use 2x2 sq tubing would be my question? Taking pictures out of context is always a challenge but the stitch welded and separating seams seem a bit poor.

Last pics I posted shows how its riding against the side. The left has space so it does not ride against the metal

Something is not right. Seems to me there should be some clearance. I would be concerned about getting it loaded and not being able to move it at some point. I would have the dealer or factory look at it.

Ya gotta slow down and study the pics. The mechanism is put together crooked and rides against one side with a space on the other side.

I don't approve of that type of quality control. But I can't say it will fail prematurely either. Just should have been built to a better specification.

Im not happy with the bigtex. This is the second one. They replaced my first one since the paint was so bad. Rusty everywhere. Trailer looked like it was 10 years old. Picked this one up this weekend looked better tell I seen that with the lift. I sent pics to dealer and bigtex. We will see what they say. Man I wish I would of got the PJ. At this point I mite try and see if the dealer will give me my money back.

I would not be happy either. Curious to see what the dealer does for you

What might that do when you get a load that happens to be considerably heavier on one side?

That's not very pretty but did Big Tex actually build the lift. My Maxey has the same lift but it is not built by Maxey.

PS. I have a big tex and it is not my favorite trailer.
PSS my lift was made by KTI

Im not sure. Im waiting to see what they say. Im hoping they just give me my money back and I will get the PJ. This will be the second trailer with them. They must have no quality control at all

How do you like the Maxey? I'm getting interested in one of their gooseneck deckover units but don't know much about the company.

BigTex no help but owner of dealership called me and will take trailer back and let me order a new brand. Turned out okay.

Some of the Big Tex dealers that I have been to here in the North west , are all independent . They have their trailers hauled in by commercial flatbed trucks and There is were the problem usually occurs . Trailer is fine at Factory , Loaded By Factory and still fine , strapped down under observation by Factory and still O.K. . But some were in transit , driver retightens straps , chains , whatever and things start going amuck .

Why I say this is that the Dealer I bought my Big Tex had the same issue's until He started using His own trucks to haul trailers back to His sales lot , ( He also runs a 5 Truck Fleet of Flatbeds ) . Once He did that , All His trailers are like straight from the Factory line look upon arrival .

I Think You will find many type's of issue's with any brand , if their trailers are delivered by other than company trucks from factory .
