Had my first day today and just kind of shadowing another guy for a few days till I get set up on the computer and get all set up. I thought I mostly deal with the local branches/market but in fact I'll be the welding tech support for all of Canada, 1100 branches. Not sure if I should be doing the :cool2: because they thought I was the most qualified or  it's such a big territory. Maybe I should have this forum on my favorites list? There's a lot of knowledge here.

Congrats.
Sounds exciting.

Sidebar: I worked for a small manufacturer of custom equipment doing installations. When things got slow they laid a bunch of people off. A lot of the senior product experts on the payroll abandoned ship for more secure positions elsewhere. When things picked up again the owners looked around and one, noting "He's still here?", declared I was the new "expert".

At least for you there was some type of qualification standard you surpassed in the interview process ;)

wishing all the best in the new position .... hope it's a lot better than the "old place" ...

now sit back and take a deep breath , you CAN do this ... ( and very well too ), don't underestimate yourself ....

besides , you have SA for back up if you need it ..;)

Congratulations!!:dance1:
Enjoy the new job.
You don't have to know everything the first day.
There will be a steep learning curve but the bosses have faith in your abilities and therefore they put you in the position. Run with it!:cool2:
