Big Cars are killing Americans

I built mine 30 ft deep, has 2 8’x9’ doors. Truck sits outside, used to put it in the barn, but it’s too full now also.
8ft tall garage doors should be standard; 7ft just barely makes it anymore. I went through a parking deck not long ago, 80" clearance... that's not much on a new full size truck.

It is impossible for the three US manufacturers to make a simple and repairable truck.
That is a statement I'll make. The top three in the US DON'T want you to repair anything.
I think they don't care... at all... cause most of the money is in financing and they must put a bigger truck than someone else, with more charging ports, and features and GPS NAV, lane avoidence, and all sorts of creatual comforts YOU DIDN'T ask for, then you wanted it the first place.

So, manufacrures are going to electric and have the ability to go there, with rebates and stuff, even if some of it didn't make sense for many of us in rural areas: It doesn't matter. This is what you will be sold. And it will become law eventually, that you can only have this way of doing things.

Grand father causes, only work till the generation is over.

Don't stop with just the top three. As for electric cars, it isn't the manufacturers who are calling the tune. Washington State legislature pass a bill banning the sale of new vehicles powered buy fossil fuels that was to go into effect in 2030. Other states have either already enacted similar legislation or have been talking about it.

That IS nice! The garage cannot be ‘too big’ anymore.
No, it really cant. I want to come home and park in a reasonably warm, weathertight garage. I like to come home from plowing snow and bring the truck inside, snowplow and all.

Nah, that's not a big truck... This is a big truck...
Hell, you could buy a really nice Peterbilt for that much money!

Like my grandad said, "Fools and their money are soon parted."

This is maybe why ICE older trucks have taken a huge jump in the used market. Gasoline isn't going to go away. But the fact that YOU can fix them will. :)

Sound like a good redneck project, convert a Peterbilt large car into a crew cab tandem dually pickup. 😃

I used to work at a place in tysons corner va where my 2001 dodge 1500 truck would not fit in the parking garage above the ground floor. My Honda Pilot barely fit the upper levels.
