I think I'm sold on the MX5100 HST w/FEL. Now I'm wondering whether I should get a backhoe too. I surely have jobs for it. Is the BH92 a good backhoe? Or should I get something aftermarket later on?

I need a backhoe that moves left to right quick. My brother's JD is very slow and always has been. It is a different design as it uses a big chain instead of a pivot arm.

Thanks.

I hate after market add ons!!! They normally are a generic frame made to fit the most amount of units they can so the manufacturer has less costs involved per machine.

The BH 92 frame work as well as the ho are designed by Kubota for kubotas tractor frames as well as the hydraulic systems!!!

Not also designed to fit Case/new holland chassis, john deere, and yanmar and the list goes on for maybe makes and sizes.

If you're going to add a backhoe, get the BH92 with the tractor, that way you can get whatever promo is available on the whole kit. I'm look at the MX4700 with the same backhoe and have read good things about it. Overall I like it however I am not a fan of the mini second seat. I would prefer the L45 setup but that's a whole different machine.

Not sure about promo deals, but the price of the backhoe added $8,000 to the total price. He says the list price is $9859. Does that sound good?

The price for the MX5100 HST w/FEL is $25,500. I did a search and that seems to be a fair price.

Thanks.

$8000 for the BH92 sounds like a good price. It is their top of line backhoe. I hear you about price. I have priced the L4400 and MX4700 and want a backhoe as I use mine on my B20 a lot and don't want to be without. However after adding that to the tractor, wanting a boxblade, and rototiller it really pushes up the price. Plus we have what we call the HST (harmonized sales tax) of 13% so that adds another $4000+ on top. So I am on the sidelines right now.

Would love to see pics of your MX5100 with backhoe when you get it. I have yet to see one with a BH.

Although super expensive a backhoe adds a lot of capability and a lot of resale as well. If you can afford a backhoe I would get it as their are tons of possibilities that you wouldn't have without. If you have your required/wanted size with budget left over get a backhoe and you'll be happier long term.

I got the MX5100 with the BH92 back in June and have never regretted it a bit. At present I have 103 theraputic hours on it and have loved every minute. As the good Lord needed a place to put all the extra rock left over from the creation of the earth, I could not imagine not having my backhoe while landscaping my 7 acres of forest/soon to be lawn.

Good luck with your purchase and most of all...ENJOY!

i like the subframe it looks like it made my tractor stronger, alot more ground clearance than my old woods also, i know we talked about how much they cost and might be better buying a used backhoe, but i just didnt want another engine-hyd-etc... to store and take care of. not to mention "like someone else i know" i like to buy toys! lol

Do all BH92 have a curved boom arm with protected lines tucked away so its reduces the risk of damaging them? Do the BH92 come in different sizes to fit different tractors ...does anyone know...as in Australia we cant get them to fit the KUBOTA MX5100 it seems...why is it so? Anyone know why?

my dealer ordered a subframe and it bolts on the mx5100, even the kubota booklets advertise the bh92 on the mx5100. maybe my salesman can ship you the kit. let me know i can give you his phone number.

I'm getting the BH92 in March for my MX5100. I was wondering what size buckets you guys run. I was thinking about getting a 16". I only want to buy one bucket, what do guys recommend? I am going to be digging alot of stumps. Also, I will be putting in some drainage ditches. Thanks!

Thanks khromatics, would like to get your dealer information email and phone details.

Any information on the BH92 would also be handy.

Perhaps this will help:
Products: BH92 Kubota Canada Ltd.

If the BH92 is anything like the older Kubota backhoe we've had for several years, it would be a strong, well-made unit. I don't have any idea what you might get yourself into trying to get one shipped from the US but wish you all success if you decide to do so. From what little I could learn online, you don't seem to have many choices for such items. I did find a "Bulldog" brand and Wallenstein - a reputable manufacturer - seems to offer something, although the BH92 is probably an ideal, if expensive, match for your tractor.

Can anyone tell me what a third function value is or does and benefits if the option is available to have it? Im refering to a L5740

If your referring to the 3rd function on a FEL (front end loader) then it would be an auxiliary hydraulic to run a 4 in 1 bucket, grapple, snowblower, or anything else that requires hydraulics. (Snowblowers would need a constant flow, not sure if Kubota offers this for the 3rd function)
