Yup, and the act of looking at or taking pictures of the foliage is known as "leaf peeping". The weatherman even forcasts where the foliage is at peak so the tourists know where to drive!
I guess over the years I've become jaded to the trees
changing. Now I see them and instead of saying "My how nice the trees look" I say, "#$@, I've got to rake soon".

I have been admiring the colors of the season myself here in the Shenandoah Valley. All the so called experts predicted it would be a bad year for the leaves with all the dry whether we had I guess the early fall rains changed everything.
Yeah, I'd actually guess that the color is probably better than it typically is. From what I've read the great red colors are largely due to the drought.
