Anybody got a better solution for the OEM seat on my Max28xl? My B*** is getting too old for this. I need more cushion, but am reluctant to purchase online for a product that may or may not match up. Thx.

Take the seat to an upholsterer and get it recovered with extra cushion and leather.

Thx Daves1708, I was hoping for a little bit better answer...but your point is well taken!

Anyway...that sounded unkind, and I didn't mean it that way. Thx. A very good idea and one that I didn't consider.

Not taken that way. You may find the upholstery method may be cheaper. I scheduled my boat lounge seat to be redone in two days. Only $236.

I believe you are correct. Prices on such things are always more expensive because they are convenient, but not always what we were hoping for. Would you agree that the OEM seats are a little 'hard' or is it just me. It is a small frame unit and prone to tossing us operators around more than we would prefer? Plus, in my case at 63 y/o my hind end is less supple than it once was.

They are hard. My BX does not give much on a bump. Mine also tends to throw me forward on a bump. When it wears out I am planning to get it redone. No use in paying Kubota $$ for the same thing.

Good luck

I haven't had a chance to operate my tractor much yet, but I think it may be a little stiff. Compared to my old tractor with steel seat and little cushion, it is a welcome improvement for me. Is yours the backhoe swivel seat?

That's what I am guarding against George. I replaced my neighbor's tractor seat when it failed because I had used his tractor. I purchased a new seat at TSC for this purpose, but of course, it didn't match up and had to be modified. I think that Daves1708 had an excellent suggestion on having a pro redo the seat. After all, we buy a 20k tractor and the seat s**ks. Why put up with the discomfort?

Sorry I didn't answer completely, no it is not a swivel seat nor do I want one. I do like Daves1708 idea.

John,
I'm not sure of your fabrication skills and we are the same age. It only took me about an hour and a half to remove my old seat, drill a couple holes and bolt the new one in. My butt certainly appreciated it. I had also priced getting my original seat recovered and extra foam added. The local shop wanted $75. I chose the new suspension seat for $89.
I'm sure Mahindra has a different seat that would bolt right in place of the old but it won't be $89.

George,
I really appreciate the input. My experience was somewhat different. I struggled to find the 'right' chair for my neighbor's tractor. It was in it's self a 'Pain in the a**". I felt obligated to do the right thing for him, but was frustrated in the process.

Not a problem. I was just curious if they were the same. I imagine the only difference is the mounting/swivel aspect. I bet the cushioning is the same.

Thx guys. I appreciate this input and the reason that I came to this site. I am out and will probably have the seat redone. Thx for the input!
