best way to spread 5 tons of lime with 3032e

Hello. Quick question. I need to spread 5 tons of lime over 2 acres. What is the best way?

Do you think I could pull one of the spreaders that coops rent out? If so, how much lime could it pull too?

The coop will not deliver unless I get a semi load.

I'd like to find a way to get ag lime. I have a 3 point speader but I've heard they will only spread pelletized.

Hoping to get this done on friday. I've delayed it pretty much all summer because I didn't want to buy pelletized.

If I were to buy pelletized how much do you think I'd need? My understanding is it takes less pelletized.

That's the best way. Don't beat up the tractor with one of those big spreaders for that many acres.

You dont want to put over one ton per acre per year....if your soil test recommended 2 tons per acre, do it over a 2 year period. Also....the lime needs to be put out a few months before fertilizer for it to work properly, typically lime in wwinter and fertilizer in spring. Our local co-op has a buggy for.spreading if you buy a few tons at a time.

Ag lime can take from 1 to 4 years to work and a lot depends on how fine the limestone has been ground so I'm not sure the benefit from applying the correct amount over a two year period. If you want more more info read this:
