I pay insurance on the tractor. The best theft protection is keeping it out of sight. Keeping it in a shed even if it doesn't have a lock will help a lot. Keeping the tractor out of the elements will help tremendously to keep it nice regardless of theft prevention. I was thinking about adding a switch to the seat safety that would make the tractor think nobody was in the seat and it wouldn't start. It would be even better to add a switch in a more discreet location.

Mine does too, but it wouldn't if the seat switch was operational. Even if your tractor doesn't have any safety crap ( like my most of my equipment) it wouldn't be hard to wire a hidden switch to prevent the engine from running.
