Best way to move larger boulders

Lever it up onto a wooden sled and then winch the sled up the ramps of a car hauler trailer. When you get to where you're going, secure the sled to a tractor, tree or truck and then pull the trailer out from underneath the sled.

Guess it just depends on what resources you have at your disposal or what you are prepared to spend. I like the car hood idea. The pioneers had much less to work with.

A good heavy chain, crowbar, stone boat made from local timber and a pair of sturdy draft horses moved a lot of things.

I tell you, I have worked with some pretty good riggers through the years. If it needs moved it can be moved. I've seen them soap plywood and skid big chillers into buildings. Slide things up and down steps. A come along and 2 clamps you can move the world.

Even a walmart come along will move the world if you are patient enough.....
