Hello everyone--
I have lurked here for a bit and have found some great info on the tractors we have on our small Pa. farm. I am hoping I can get a few suggestions on this challenge....
We have recently purchases a John Deere 2030 to replace an old warhorse and monster Farmall 966. It has a 146 loader on it, and the tractor has HI/Lo and IPTO. We had noticed some jerkiness in the 3pt hitch, and when we got it home we found the hydraulic fluid low. With just under 4000hrs on it we decided it could use a fluid change and filter. When we dropped the fluid it was very obvious it had water contamination (milky white). I have seen this before as my career was mostly focused on mobile hyd. equipment (Forklifts, Bucket trucks, Backhoes, etc).
My challenge is this: we changed fluid and filter, cleaned suction screen and she runs great now, but still allot of milky contamination! Does anyone here have any suggestions on flushing the system without splitting it into pieces and hand washing it out? I thought about dropping a few gallons out and putting the same amount of Diesel fuel back in and run it through the paces and changing the fluid and filter it again. I know I won't be able to get it ALL out, but figure if I do this and maybe change it out again next Winter I should be pretty good.
We are a small time operation and probably will get maybe 2-300hrs a year on this machine. TIA, LOOSENUTS
