I'll soon be buying a YM 2000, rotary cutter, and finish mower. I have some hills and uneven terrain and want to make tractor as stable as possible but not make it so heavy as to mar the ground badly. Between adding 200lbs. of front weights or filling the tires, which would be most advantageous? I'm not sure how much weight would be added by filling tires. Any thoughts?

Consider a ROPS. Anything you do to help avoid rollover, sideways or rear, becomes useless if it actually happens anyway. At that point the ROPS may save your life.

I'll second the ROPS. I have a YM2000 and have added both front weight and filled the tires to about 75%. Also, turning the rear tires to the outward most position will help. More than anything common sense and thinking about what you're doing will keep you out of trouble. By the way, you should also get an overrun clutch for use with the mower so you don't lose control of the tractor. Good Luck!

The tractor I'm looking at has ROPS and I have already planned on the over-running clutch. About how much weight does filling the rear tires of the 2000 add?

There's allot of threads here about filling tires.. I plan on doing mine sooner or later, but I also perked up a bit when someone was talking about home made wheel weights not long ago.. The weights can be removed easier than the water.. I cant help with the advise because I havent done it, but I recomend a search for these topics too...

As for the O/R clutch... Make sure you spring for the quick disconnect.. Well worth the money.. You only need it with the cutter, so if you have a tiller or anything else you'll need to remove it(not so easy if its not a quick connect)..
