Buying Advice best tires for snow/plowing

If you can ‘parle en francais’, the Quebecois boys run those tires lots on their driveway cleaning rigs so they must be good. They’d be the ones to get a good opinion from! Lots of used machines for sale in Quebec with them installed as they flip and update tractors.
For the 7060, the set of tires was gonna run around $7000 cdn. And that was getting sizes to fit my rims.

I was going to get Nokian but was told they are good for winter but so good in summer .But all deppent on what you are going to do whit them .So i look around and when whit turf tire , there a few guy up here in my town that have them and said there are a good winter tire and great for summer that good for me i do lot of grass cutting .

rstod, I'd be very interested in what you find out. In particular, are they an acceptable year round tire for home owner use?

Nokians were impossible for my dealer to get, so I took the tractor with R-4 tires to be swapped out for Nokians. Last update I have on delivery of the Nokians is August!

FYI: The upgrade cost for Nokians when ordering a new JD 4066R is about $1200. They would cost WAY more buying wheels and tires separately.

BTW, there are multiple versions of Nokian tractor tires. I believe one of the significant differences in the various versions is the thread compound.

John Deere factory installed are Nokian TRI 2. I believe these are of a compound and design suitable for year round use, including loader work. I'd love to have this confirmed.

I just took delivery of my new L6060 with the Nordic package and the Nokian tires, unbelievable traction on snow. Far far better than industrials.

I have never heard of a ' Nordic pkg '... can you explain? is it a Kubota thing? to include Nokian tires?

I have some of the Nokian style tread but I don't believe that it's the "softer" rubber. I found a pair, mounted on wheels that were "take off's" from a sprayer for my fronts for a good enough price to try them. They are very good in the snow and I think almost equal to the R-1's with screw in studs. The road ride is incredible.
My rears are developing cracks and I bought a set for them but I'm waiting for a failure before I mount them up. The fronts are by Alliance and the rears, BKT. Both the old and new are/were radials. The fronts seem to offer the same traction for the summer work in my soils, but for those who are operating in clay I'd be concerned with the tread filling up. The rears are still un mounted for any summer appraisal.
I'm expecting much more life out of this thread pattern.

I have TRI 2 tires on my L4760, have to say they are worth the money. They do great in the snow or brush cutting.
