Best source for 5303 clutch kit?

My 5303 seems to be needing a new clutch, it will only move if I pull up on the clutch pedal with my foot. It started showing symptoms a month or so ago.
Where are people finding OEM or high quality remanufactured clutch kits? I believe the part # is R72534NU2. A source for the shop manual would also be most welcome.

Maybe just a clutch adjustment is needed, or have you been that route already?

How many hours on your 5303, and what are most of those hours been doing?

I believe only freeplay is adjustable, and it's within limits. It has 1750 hours on it, but I bought it used and have only put about 500 of those hours on it. I know the guy who bought it new, and he mostly used it for hay bailing, but admitted that he did lend it out to neighbors who were rather rough on it (had to replace a gear or two after that.) I use it for general work, mowing, postholes, manure spreading, etc.

When I needed a clutch for my old bolins Iseki, I found a clutch and drive shaft shop. They easily found a replacement. Turned out that a common Toyota clutch fit it. He also found a throw out bearing and bushing that fit. Pressure plate was good. It cost a fraction of what it would have from a tractor parts supplier.

Please explain if "clutch pedal free travel" is set correctly how pulling up on clutch pedal can increase pressure applied to traction disk by pressure plate. If free travel is correct clutch pedal mechanism & throw-out brg will not be in contact with pressure plate fingers therefore PP will be exerting all the spring pressure on traction disk it is capable of producing!! Most clutch pedal free travel I'm acquainted with is around 1'' which means there's an 1'' GAP between throw-out brg & PP fingers.

I agree. Pulling up on pedal should only make a difference if pedal or clutch operating shaft are binding and you are pulling pedal further than spring pressure is moving it. As far as clutch availability, you might want to consider the John Deere original. It is pretty reasonable as clutch prices go at about $550. That includes traction disk, pto disk and complete pressure plate assembly. Only thing not included is release bearings and pilot bearing. Part number RE73611.

Had a 5105 that I thought needed a clutch. Read some on this forum, dug in my manual a little and found instructions for adjusting. After adjusting problem solved.
