I'm thinking about getting a new 12k class machine. I have kubota, cat, yanmar, tak, deere and probably others close by. On the kubota site the build is around 80k. The local dealer won't move on it. I'm willing to drive anywhere in the lower 48 for the best deal, closer to the northeast depending on the price. I'm looking for the biggest discount not brand loyal. About 10 years ago I had a friend get a 303.5 msrp for 54k down to around 43-44k. I don't care if it's a leftover. Anyone care to share actual prices paid for there mini?

You arent going to find many that purchased a 12k# machine on these forums. In Kubota that would be KX080 correct? Check heavyequipmentforums also. I aggressively priced a KX040 at about 60k, loaded (cab, thumb, 6 way blade). Ended up with a TLB in the end.

I bought a KX080 with hydraulic thumb, 6 way blade and open station last year new with 0% for around $60K- the year before I bought the KX040 same configuration for around $40k- the 80 is twice the machine even though the specs don't show it

These were not my first mini x's - also had Cat- zero complaints with the kubota

Ya I have a few questions over on the equipment forum too. Kxo80 is around 18k which I wouldn't be against either, the u55 and kx057 are around 12k. I looked at a 110tlb,l39,l45 and l48 a few years ago and I may end up with of those in the end. Are there good mowing options for the tlb's? I'll need to mow about 4-5 acres when I'm finished clearing the land.

Thanks, thats sounds great for the kx080. I'd be up for an 80 if I could get close to that price. I had a u35 that about 8k lbs but need something bigger to clear the land. Mind sharing the dealer or PMing if you prefer? I do like kubota just for resale alone not that I'm planning on selling but you never know.

you can try Ritchie brothers auctions. the one closest to me always seems to have a few year old unused models for auction. i didn't see any in the auction this coming tues, but there were several 2017s with less than 500hrs

I'm in the same boat with you. Been shopping heavy. You can see my thread in Excavators: https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/excavators/409745-looking-buy-mini-x-your.html

Right now, I'm leaning towards a late model, low hour dealer-owned rental fleet machine. At the top of that list is a Takeuchi TB260. Open station 2015 model with 900 hrs and a 1 yr warranty for $32K. Dealer installed hyd thumb is another $2500. Or, I can get a new one, with a cab and thumb, for $70. (2 yr warranty and 0% for 48 months)

I just priced the Kubota KX057-4 last week. Local dealer quoted $74K, for cab/air, angle blade and hyd thumb. I plan to talk to a couple other Kubota dealers this week.

Got a quote on a Kobelco SK45SRX open station, angle blade and hyd thumb for $54K. Smooth and quiet, but compared to the Take, the hydraulics are slow.

Deere quoted me on a nearly new 50G (2018 and less than 400 hrs), with cab, angle blade and hyd thumb for $58.

Terry just suggested Ritchie Bros. Used Heavy Equipment for Sale | Heavy Equipment Auctions | Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers You can check it out. Hope you have better luck than I have. I've been to 3 of their auctions lately, and I haven't bought anything. If you go that route, I would strongly encourage you to go in person and go early. You can (and should) check out anything you're considering. I went to Ft. Worth two weeks ago. Had 27 Midi-Excavators on my watch list. After I had checked them out Monday, I had deleted all but four from my watch list, and made notes of conditions, issues, and what I would pay. I came home without one.
Often, if a machine is offered in an auction, it's because something is wrong with the machine and the dealer isn't willing to sell it himself. (and live with an angry customer) Just saying, keep both eyes open on auctions.

Thanks, ya I looked a the listings of the auction tomorrow. They have about 10 CAT 308s low hours between 300-900 I wouldn't be against one of those depending what they go for. The end of last year there were some older ones 2014-15s with a few thousand hours sold between 50-60k. Then I would need to add about 7-9k for fees, taxes and delivery.

Thanks for listing some real numbers and lots of good info in that other thread. I've been to the New England auction before and was surprised what stuff was selling for (high). That used TB260 sounds like a good deal but sometimes I wonder if that should be the market value and all the other high priced listings just make it look that way. I just sold a u35 open cab and I'm going to try and find a full cab this time. There is a 2014 kx057 with 3k hours full cab for around 50k in my area. I'd just assume to go brand new for somewhere in the 70s is the better option. But I got some time to decide. I need to go get some #s from the tak, yanmar and deere dealer. I'll report back with what I find out up here.

the region you buy in can greatly affect the price of the items.

you can search past auctions for what things sold for. then add in fees/taxes
