I do a lot of things with my tractor...... I really hate moles and ground hogs. Can tell you for a fact that a backhoe is really the best tool for removal of these critters.......

I don't have experience with the backhoe but I think it might be a bit messy and hard on lawns. I use a Rodinator Pro. Blasts them to he!! and back and its a lot of fun!
