to add a three spool PB valve to a system originally fitted with a pair of Aux valves and a TPH, I am considering cutting the pump output line, and running new lines to and from a three spool Open center DCV with Power beyond .

good plan? seems too simple ;-) A third line , drain to tank would be needed as well.

Are compression fittings, or JIC flare the best? The original lines just might be metric... Italian tractor.

TIA

seems simple, but the tool to put on "new ends" on hard lines = $$$, and last time i remember same thing goes for ends just from regular hyd hoses.

i would say, take to a near by tractor place. and let them. mix and match the fittings to make sure they have the correct ones before creating hard lines and/or hyd hoses.

to note it, you just can't use regular every day fittings from local hardware stores. those fittings are not rated for pressures seen in majority of all tractors. and will break / explode / etc... that could easily kill when they do come apart. with that said make sure ya get fittings, and like rated for max hyd pressure your tractor produces.

most of the time i see ranges from 2000PSI to 3000PSI. but i am no mechanic that sees wide variety of machines everyday in and out.

Nothing wrong with the plan in general. I have put AUX valves with PB
in that part of the circuit. Indeed I plan to replace the OEM valve on
my Kioti with an external AUX valve plumbed that way.

Here are the approaches I see:
> cut the hardline and use a flaring tool for hyd fittings to break in.
You may find a hyd shop to do that for you. Let us know if you do....I
have never used those kind of fittings.
> replace the whole hard line with hose with standard ends. The problem
here is that your pump and maybe the other end of the hardline may
use banjo fittings. Mine do. Adapting to banjo fittings may require
some custom fabrication. Tough, but doable. If your pump uses any
type of threaded fitting, then this approach is a very good choice.
If you weld a banjo adapter, TIG is best to avoid micro-pores. I used
MIG and air tests to detect/remove micro pores.
> You could cut the hardline and braze a fitting (JIC or ORFS) on the end.
(I tried welding these hardlines and it does not work.)

Swagelok fittings would be the easiest way to go.
Take a section out of the line and insert the Swagelok valve. Easy & reliable.
