Since this tread has come back from the grave and painting is so popular with diyers,I have a few comments. Regardless of type,brand,price,u-tube reviews and anything else related to painting, cleaning equipment is where more people fail than all other factors combined. It take's time and elbow grease to properly clean equipment.
With that out of the way,I paid around $200 several years ago for a new Campbell Hausfeld HVLP rig and after countless small jobs,it works fine now. The origional question was "what's the best available"? But then it became clear op wasn't after the best,he was after an inexpensive silver bullet. The closest I could come to forfilling that would be those gravity fed guns mentioned above. Airless is not for novice use and even in the hands of an expert, anything selling for less than $500 can't do good work and is a waste of money. Put on your big girl panties and break out the brush and roller to paint decks, buildings and fences. It didn't kill your grandpaw, it wont kill you and the job will look better when finished.
