Best grapple for an L48?

Does the long tine dig the earth well? I understand it is not a root rake, but I want a general-purpose that will allow me to do some light root work. Shaped like that EA Wicked basically.

Yes. The pipe support near the teeth help gauge the tooth depth and rake thru the ground from 0-6”. The added reach long bottom very helpful too.

Each grapple style has strengths and comprises. Blessed with 4 different ones.

Have the newer EA wicked 54” long bottom on the B26 and love it. The teeth clamp together instead of bypass. Can pick up a pencil or small rocks. Great for our landscaping and orchard maintenance.

While either grapple will attach to either tractor the lighter weight grapple would maybe get hurt by the M59. 360# vs 850#

Need the brute strength on the M59 grapple. Tree logs are like huge levers. EA makes stronger skidsteer grapples. Best to ask them the best for your application. Good folks and good equipment.

I got my Land Pride SGC1560 grapple and WR Long valving seven years ago. It's a very HD rock & root grapple. Works exceptionally well for me.

Don't forget to do something like this to your grill guard. Protects from sticks, stobs & limbs causing damage to your grill, radiator or battery.

Sage advice.
Improving the grill guard is important for brush work with grapples. Your L48 is metal nose is maybe tuffer than my plastic M59 but serious damage can happen from even a small stick.

Good time to think about adding a bumper for front end protection. Root balls from pushing trees over. Tie down points for trailering. And hood protection.

It works very good for removing roots. It has a smooth lower rake so the roots don't hang up when dumping and lets them slide up the rake without hanging up and causing them to just get pushed through the dirt. I just removed a bunch of snow berries throughout the trees and they have roots that scatter out wide and it works great. I am getting ready to thin out some smaller pine trees so I can mow in through the bigger trees. I have put this rake to the extremes gathering 6-900lb rocks for a project ad it would of been nice if they were all on the surface but no such luck, used the grapple rake to dig them out as well.

I think I found an EA Wicked 60", gonna spring for it.
You can't do any better than EA, but ...... condition yourself for a very lengthy wait.
