We had another three dishwasher load Sunday today.
All the bunch was here except one son in law who is a lieutenant in a local fire department and had to work. So there were nine and a half present. On June 8th the half will become a whole and there will be eleven total of us. During the meal with all the cutting up and laughing the future grand got to dancing and the cousins got a kick out of holding their hands on my youngest daughter's belly and feeling a foot or head. Fried chicken, home canned or frozen veggies, and a homemade strawberry pie (fresh picked strawberries) rounded out the meal. My wife does all the cooking with me regulated to peeling potatoes and doing the clean up work. So after everybody leaves we put leftovers in the appropriate containers and load the dishwasher with the first load. Once it is started the sinks are filled with the grummier stuff to soak and we nap. This will be repeated two more times before we are finished. And maybe a fourth washing after all the leftovers are finished at supper.
This is a sign of good times.
