Thanks for the help so far. As to the question of hydraulics, I have found that the PTO pump that Woods uses puts out 6gpm. The B7500 puts out 4.4gpm. However, the information I get is that only the speed of the backhoe will be affected by this. The pressure will remain the same. So it would be a little slower if you where trying to do two things a once. For instance, lifting the boom and turning at the same time. But it will still have the same breakout force and digging force.
Dealer showed me the subframe for this unit. Since the subframe is hard mounted to the backhoe, it comes off the tractor when removing the hoe and seems to be a very easy process.
However, the dealer will not sell the 7500 for this tractor. To much stress for the size of the tractor, I'm told.
His recommended combo is: 6500 with subfame using tractor hydraulics
I will continue to see if I can find a dealer who will sell it. I would like the extra reach. However I have to remember that if I want to dig a hole on my land with a hand shovel, It is a process of Pick, Shovel, Pick, Shovel, Iron bar, Shovel, etc. Very hard ground so I'm wondering if it might be to much stress after all. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Were you talking about changing the fluids in only the PTO units (being contained units) and not if using the tractor hydraulics? They would be changed on the regular schedule.

You got me on that one. I would think that the 7500 with subframe would be stronger than the Kubota with a 3pt mount even though it is larger. Can't make one dealer see it that way so still looking.

Thanks

If you use the search feature you might dig up an old post from last sprig, I recall a TBN'er who sub-frame mounted a Woods 7500 on his B7500. He even had a bunch of pictures. He would be a good man to check back with as to his satisfaction.

Your point about an exta 12" reach is a good one.

Al: Try Bob Giddings at Giddings Equip, Pittsford, Vt. 802-483-2292. He was recommended to me by one of the moderators of the whatsthebestlawnmower.com forums. Feel free to tell him that Larry J. referred you.

I was up to see him last weekend about buyiing a B7610 with a Woods BH. He likes using the Woods 7500 and subframe mount and says he has put several on B7500s with excellent results. Since he suggested it to me, he will certainly be willing to do it.

I am also checking with Kubota to see what its position on the 7500/7610 combo is, although Giddings says there will be no problem with K honoring the warranty. I haven't finally decided whether to get the 6500 or 7500, but posters's pics sure looked good to me.

I don't have to decide right away because the 7610 won't be in until late Feb anyway.

Good luck.

I've seen the self contained system have so much condinsation in the that they have eaten the pump as well as frozen and broken them. Depending on use hey might need to be changed yearly.

Slow response is appreciated at the beginning of the learning curve, but adds stress, frustration, and doubt later on when your trying to dislodge a rock, and the bucket seems stalled.

Multiple operations (lift & curl) are slow with full hydraulics, and painfully so with less.

Higher rpms (I usually run my 4690 below PTO speed) reduces this pausing, cycles faster (digs, dumps,...), and is just more efficient.

Someone early on said to go Kubota because they designed both. I'd agree, and go further to say the Kubota dealer is the one who'll be servicing both the Tractor and the backhoe, and it's harder to blame "the other" manufacturer if a problem arises in the future.

I love mine...remember it's not a 410, and you'll love yours too.

Sometimes you just get lucky. I am ending up purchasing a used (very little) 7500 and subframe mount with PTO hydraulics that came off a B2100 that was traded in for a larger tractor. The subframe is the same one that fits the B7500. The backhoe is in very good condition and the price is 1/2 the coat of a new one. I stumbled onto this one at a dealers while checking new hoes. The dealer sells both Woods and Kubota's and is very knowledgeable about compact tractors. He say's though it is not recommended by Kubota, there are many B7500's with this hoe mounted and the owners are very happy with the results. I am also very happy with the price. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I will post a picture this spring after it warms up and we mount it on the tractor.
Thank's to all who helped with the information and gave me the push to keep going.

VT_Orange,

Congratulations!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If the dealer endorses and supports it, I wouldn't worry. Sounds like a nice package.

Hope the ground thaws soon. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I think you did just great, belatedly... I have a Woods hoe (6500 - the 7500 is too big for my little guy) and I love it. The subframe doesn't cause me headaches and for my setup I suspect that without it I'd shred my tractor's frame. The hoe can easily (and often does) pick the tractor up and if I'm careless will drop it back down with quite a thud. The PTO hydraulic pump was a requirement for me, as my B7300 doesn't put out the needed pressure to run a hoe.

I suspect you'll find that you will only need to run your tractor at pretty low RPMs to get plenty of speed and power with your PTO pump. I rarely run mine anywhere near the PTO speeds, because the hoe jumps like a greased rabbit when I crank it up.

I know that with the larger tractors the rear mounted hoe without the subframe works just fine, but I think you'll be plenty happy with the Woods. Especially since you picked it up at a good price /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. Have fun with it...
