I know first choice is a boat... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I want to dredge/cleanup the area I put my boat in. I would like to make it deeper. (more of a slope). I'm not sure if a box blade would be the right tool for the job. Any idea is welcomed..outrageous or otherwise /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Paul,
Sounds like a backhoe would be the perfect tool for the job.
This just might be the perfect reason to get one !!!!

Is it salt, or fresh water? If salt, I would not use anything that is that good. The salt water will eat it up.

Mark I have one.../w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif It has been raining lately so I havent really tackled the project. The problem is that you scoop just as much water as dirt....slow going. I may just have to try and dam up the area and pump the water out. But I`m also trying to not draw much attention...I dont need 20 "expert" opinions on the matter. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Could you get anouther bucket, and eather drill some holes in it, or cut a big hole, and fill it with some very HD mesh? Would let some of the water out. Just an idea, but it may work.

I thought about ways to drain the water from the bucket too. I think in the end slow and steady will win the race../w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I have learned to always ask for ideas before I get started. Nothing worse then finishing up a project and having someone tell you how you could have saved half the time and aggravation /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
By the way it is fresh water (lake)

I like to mess it up real bad first, then ask for ideas. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You can say that again. Actually, I think I'll say it again:

BEEN THERE... DONE THAT...

Paul,

I just finished this very project. After experimentation, I found that my box blade was the most effective implement. A dirt scoop was also helpful.

Mike did you dam up the water and pump it dry? Or did you just keep backing in scraping away?
