You're pushing to hard. Start with lowest possible gear. The blower should not lose any speed if snow isn't higher than blower. If it still breaks the bolt ??? I cut frozen packed snow that slides off the barn. If you modify the shear, you accept all liabilty. For the machine, your buildings, kids, pets etc. when something goes flying. Once you find the right speed for the storm (wet vs powder) then have at it. Mine is a rear-mount. A loader mount can break easier if too much down pressure. Leave it up an inch or so to get the first pass, then go faster without using the entire width. I run mine w/ a L2250DT 1984, 4 speed manual w/hi/lo, 4wd, chains on rear landscape tires. Off the rear PTO. 2,000' gravel drive + 7,000 sq.ft. gravel parking area for equipment. Highest snow on ground 54". Good luck.[/QUOTE]
