Is there anyway to straighten or otherwise repair a PTO shaft that has been bent while in use? Seems as if part of the quick hitch on the tractor was hitting the PTO shaft while it was spinning. Thanks.

Try this.

It most likely depends on how it is bent. If it's bowed its worth a try with a vice and a ball peen hammer. If its dented, I doubt it.

Once a shaft like that has been bent, it's very difficult to get it back right. Not that it can't be done, it's just hard, and usually expensive compared to the cost to replace. If you straighten it and don't get it right, the vibration will substantially shorten the life of the u-joints and probably the bearings supporting the PTO output shaft at the tractor.

Most PTO shafts are tubing and would be difficult to straighten and
get it true.
Other problem is if it will slide after your done.
TSC and other farm stores have the blank tubing.
U might be able to replace it and save the ends.
Some are welded together and others are pinned or press fit.
