Anyone ever replaced a bent 3-pt lift arm on a BX? How much for the part, how hard was it, etc.?

I was using a 7' sickle bar on an old tractor today when the tractor died. I had to take the sickle off before we could tow the tractor to the garage. I figured I could put the sickle on the kubota just to get it back where it belongs. I attached one arm and the top link, then lifted the 3-pt a bit to line up the other arm. When I did, the whole sickle bar swung around about a foot and just twisted the lower arm that was attached. I managed to get the other side on anyway and got the sickle out of the way.

I actually have no idea what a new one will cost, but if they're like most, you'll probably want to consider a big hammer and an anvil to straighten the old one.

The blue tip wrench will likely be in order.....

I may try staightening it out. I guess worst case it just bends again and I'll need to buy one. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow, it's quite twisted.

Couple of pipe wrenches with pipes on the handles would do the trick. Thanks for the tip.

I pounded mine with a 16# sledge and got it pretty straight. The part part on my L is $158.56 at Tractorsmart.com.

I'd say you need somewhere to hold it well and a bloody great hammer.
