Bench grinder or angle grinder?

Oh yeah.... _always_ wear gloves with the angle grinder... those things just love skin. I also prefer a faceshield to glasses, especially when using a wire brush/wheel.

And the gloves protect from the heat to. hehe, stuff gets hot!!

An angle grinder is vastly more useful than a bench grinder. But don't just rely on the standard cutting discs. Make sure you also buy a rubber backing pad and a good range of sanding discs, especially some really coarse ones. You'll be amazed how much woodworking you can do with an angle grinder.

Yeah, someone makes a chain saw chain on a disc for the 4 1/2 grinder too. Supposedly useful for wood sculpting. It's a scary lookin' thing for sure! 10,000 rpm with a chain saw...1/2" from your hand...
