Belarus T40 engine for 420

I've done business with Beshears in Alabama. They were once a huge Belarus dealer, they still sell parts and used tractors. Good service, and they know all there is to know about Russian tractors. There is also various dealers on the internet, but I only have delt with Beshears directly. Consider the cost carefully, a new engine will cost more than the tractors value. Belarus tractors are dirt cheap now. Last year a low time (225 hours) "like new" 825 with loader and cutter was $8,000, that exact same tractor was $4,000 this year, last time I checked it was sitting in Beshears bone yard with the loader gone along with a few parts. Ask for Benji or Rusty, I've delt with both multiple times, just bought a Kubota from Rusty.... zero problems. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Are they actually stocking the Belarus tractors? My bank won't loan money on them anymore. I was going to buy a new 80 hp model untill I found out I couldn't get financing in Alabama. Beshears in Alabama says they can't get new ones, are they telling me a story? I can't get one now, but I would like to have a new one again in 4x4 with a cab. Can't beat the prices and I like them better than the Zetors. I haven't owned a Zetor, but the Belarus tractors seem more solid by their looks. I checked another dealer before I bought the Kubota and they said they couldn't get any more either. But they did have some 03's early in the year. Beshears has been without new Belarus for about three years. They still sell parts though.

I don't know if MacFadden's is stocking them now, but he always has in the past. He had some new ones there when I went to his sping auction.

I have a few friends who have experienced Belarus', and one who still has one. In my experience they are really awful tractors. Poorly made, break down often, and parts are expensive, when you can find them. Luckily MacFaddens usually has what you need, but Belarus parts are expensive from anyone.

I've had good ones. The air cooled tractors were not liked very well. I have a small air cooled 250 that has taken thousands of hours of abuse with no real parts use, just two clutches. But, it is a rough machine. The large water cooled tractors are better and I do like them. My local dealer sold over 10,000 of them in my area.

I have never had the parts problem. You can order directly from Belarus if you need to. My local dealer stocks the common parts. I've never had one break down more than any other old tech tractor. They make a great back up tractor and the prices are rock bottom. Major parts could take time, but you probably could just buy a "parts tractor" for very little. Around here, you have to pay cash, they have hardly no resale value after the importer went belly up. The Koreans are replacing the Russians, I wonder if they will have more staying power.

Hey, its Russian /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
