Been looking for 5L Vee belt pully to direct mount on Hydraulic pump TAPER Shaft

NOT A TAPER LOC, Hydraulic pumps come with TAPERED Shafts (as well as straight and spline)

I'm needing a 4" diameter or so. I spent a few hours making up a taper by straight bore pulley adaptor, but don't want to go that way if I want to change pulley size in the future.

What size is the shaft? Most hydraulic pumps I work with are either straight shaft or splined.

B series pulleys would be what you need for a 5l belt.

Is the tapered shaft keyed? You can always buy blank pulleys and either get a tapered reamer, or turn a tapered on a lathe.

It's a 2 bolt A size pump with 3.25 mounting spigot. 18 mm shaft with a 3 mm key ( The world HAS gone metric.)

Sure, I can bore a taper into a blank, then cut the key. (HEY! I just did that today!) But why would I want to put $150 in time into a $20 pulley?
Pricing taper reamers will open one's eyes as well. And just how to specify? "Oh just make it to fit the hydraulic pump, I assume it matches the standard.

PS MOST pumps are not the pump I have, so that doesn't help. ;-)

I believe Browning used to offered tapered ID pulleys. I do not have a clue if they do anymore or not.

Do have a name or model number on the pump. Yes there are some standards for tapered shafts but I have no clue if every manufacturer uses the same standard or not. I.e. Vickers, Parker, Rexroth, etc...

Browning and woods is where I started. Just looked at Browning again, I didn't find in taper shaft finished bore pulleys.

Do you have stores like Motion Industries in your area. They are a power transmission component distributor and may have a source for tapered shaft pulleys. Vickers power steering used to use these also.

I've done so already, and would rather not do so again if the need for an alternate pulley size should arise.

By the time you get the taper dialed in, and the keyways cut, There is way more time in the piece than a $20 pulley.
