I have been following this group for quite a while now.I finally got me a tractor to restore but i don't know what it is.i will post a few picks in hopes of some help identifying it.It is a Mitsubishi,I see in a couple spots casted in the transmission area 1980.can anyone tell me what model this tractor is?

Interesting tractor... Sanyo was a Chinese company before Panasonic bought them out.

The engine is likely one of the usual Mitsubishi industrial that is/are/were used worldwide, what does the block plate say the model is on it? That will go a long way to identify what it crosses over with.

Load Master was/is a made in America brand but the logo seems off and is reminiscent of the 60/70's style, for something built in the 1980s.

If someone can confirm the language on the decals, you would get more information about where it was possibly built.

I suppose it is possible that it is a hybrid MT280 grey which would have it at 28hp?

Half expect it is likely a rebrand Iseki version, post coldwar sentiments and all that.


Edit: maybe it is simpler and the dealer had a falling out with their supplier/distributor and was barred from selling the brand so they slapped a new sticker on the inventory to clear it out.

Is it Japanese, Korean, or Vietnamese? It is also possibly a version of Chinese but it does not seem like it.

Korean or Vietnamese would pretty much confirm a grey.

You can possibly find the information you seek at Valley Power. They were a great help to me when I had a Mitsubishi tractor - they even had compiled a service manual for it though it was never imported into this country (gray market). My tractor did have a Mitsubishi model number though most of the tags were in Japanese. These people have a supply of spare and replacement parts and may be a source of some used parts as well. They are located in Roanoke, VA.

Thanks for all the replies thus far,I just found another tag pinned(under grease) to the side of the transmission case with 4 rivets.I have it soaking in paint remover so i can read it better but it says Long MFG. MODEL 15 80 SERIAL NUMBER ??? HAVE TO GET AFTER PAINT IS REMOVED.VERY FAINT STAMP ON THE WRITING BUT IT IS IN ENGLISH.


It is a 2 cylinder 6 speed transmission.3 hi 3 lo with 2 reverse if that helps anyone.

Also, Long was a Romanian manufacturer, strange to have oriental labels on it...

IT IS A LONG MFG TRACTOR, Model 1580 4wd.I assume 1980 or 1981 because of casting dates on case.

close.The 1580 model i found has a serial number almost matching mine.Off by less than 5000.

What did model/version that corresponds to 1580 did you match and order manuals for?

I am curious as the Long 610 is a 4cyl and 71hp.

i went with model 1580 manuals.i see that the tractor you posted is also a model 1580,i saw another that was a 310 and it also was a model 1580.the manuals are supposed to cover all serial numbers in all of the model 1580 series.310 i belive was a 3 cylinder the one you show is a 4.mine is a 2 maybe with the manuals i will fid that it also has some other series option or whatever.

There is a Long mfg. 260c,310,310c and a 310dt 1580. maybe more but thats all i found so far.

I'm gonna say mine is the 260 c,2 cylinder diesel 1.6 liter.24 hp. at the pto.

This tractor data thing seems to be missing so much that i quit looking at it yesterday.i could be wrong but a lot of model and other info is not there so really it is of no help.IMHO
