I remember the post back in July when Whiskey put spray on bed liner on the step and pedals of his JD 790 and I got to thinking how that would look on the foot rests of my 990. I was thinking of having Auto Armor do them for me since they did my dad's Mazda truck and did a great job with the spray on bedliner. Any thoughts on doing this? I think it would look kind of cool going by Whiskey's pics he posted.

GlennT did this on the foot rests of his 670 several years ago.
He bought the spray from Wal-Mart.

Here's a link to that thread.

That is a great idea,i think i'm on board with that one. the looks aren't as important as function to me,the paint is wearing of and when plowing snow i park the tractor then wipe water of bare metal because rust starts overnight, bed liner would stop that! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif consider it done on my tractor

I just went and did mine, nice /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif The stuff comes in colors to match, red green blue ect. No slip no rust should hold up way beter than paint!

Hi
does it have a sand finish like the non skid stuff you put on stairs? I bought some rubber stick on pads for my riding lawn mower foot rest but they get slick when they get wet. other than that they wear good and feel good and protect the metal foot rest. sounds like the bed liner might be better. Can you buy it in small amounts? I have been thinking about getting my truck bed done with the rhino stuff.

Lazy it has a grit finish fine like sand, i cant imagine it would be slipery when wet. Applys few coats thickins up. the can says nonslip even wet. it comes in small spray can made by plasti-cote. works great!

I've seen rolls of friction tape that work good.. I repaired my lawnmower with it.. looks like a medium emery paper.. sticky-backed..

Soundguy i know the stuff Cat used it on hoods and steps that you had to walk on to service machine it does work well, but my foot rest has perferated holes punched up for grip, i fear the tape would not stick well, hard to get flat between perferations, would be alot of work to do it right. if you have nice flat metal that would work very well.

Thanks for the idea Yellowsocks. I had been thinking of putting the treaction tape on my footrests and pedal surfaces. The bed liner stuff should work much better. Hate to be slipping around with wet boots.
