I have a Satoh Beaver 4x4 in good condition w/ a snow plow and chains, which I've been trying to trade for an older farm tractor suited to row crops. So far I've had several offers, but all except one were worth around $1,000. The one worth a bit more is a '79 Kabota L2000 which is in working condition, but not cosmetically perfect. I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with both and know if this would be a good trade or not. I'm concerned that the L2000 won't be able to pull my 18" moldboard plow and also parts availability. Lastly, am I off the mark for considering my Satoh's value at $3,000. There's nothing wrong with it, everything works as it should.

The L2000 i believe is a grey market Kubota, your Kubota dealer will likely not support parts therefore you would be left to locate them on the web. I just did a search and found one potential parts source, Cross Creek Tractor - Tractor Parts - New, Used, Rebuilt & Aftermarket . They have an L2000 in their parts yard. As far as it pulling your plow, it would depend on it it is 2wd or 4wd. 4wd should be able to handle it but 2wd likely wont.

It is a 2WD model. I know my old 2N Ford could pull the plow, but that also was a heavier tractor I believe.
