Thanks for letting us know what happened. I own two of these Mr. Funnel filters and strongly recommend you get one so as to prevent this from happening to you in the future. I have kerosene heaters as emergency back-ups and because the fuel maybe stored for years, it has not been a problem because of these water and particulate removing funnels. Note: Am not affiliated with Mr. Funnel but do own the smallest and the largest versions. I bought mine via Amazon use them for all fuels, diesel, gasoline and kerosene. I got them to remove water from fuel and have found there is also particulate matter that sometimes gets into my fuel tanks as these filters show the stuff that is removed!
